Acute Psychiatric Nurse — Crisis Care & Team Impact

The Registered Nurse - Psychiatric provides compassionate care to patients in an acute psychiatric setting. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care, maintaining patient safety, and supporting patients with various psychiatric needs in a General Population (Adult Psych/BHH) environment. Key Responsibilities Provide patient care in an acute psychiatric setting. Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and assess mental and physical health. Respond to emergency situations and de-escalate crises as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. Ensure compliance with facility protocols and industry standards, including safety measures. Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions to stay updated on best practices and procedures. Required Qualifications Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications. At least 2 years of experience in an acute psychiatric setting. Preferred Qualifications Strong ability to adapt to fluctuating patient ratios and staffing needs.
