Position Details

• Start Date: October 1, 2026 — somewhat urgent, but not firm
• Contract Length: 6 months to start
• Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Saturday coverage is required
• Pay Rate: $24–$25/hr
• Occasional overtime may be required

Position Overview

We are seeking a Material Handler II to support clinical laboratory operations and research labs by ensuring materials, laboratory components, and business supplies are received, stored, and distributed accurately and efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone with material handling experience in a highly regulated environment , such as GMP, ISO, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or laboratory settings. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, comfortable following established procedures, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately receive, inspect, and put away inbound materials
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for outbound shipment
• Stock laboratory and warehouse areas
• Move, store, and distribute hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory variances
• Reconcile purchase orders with packing slips and receiving documentation
• Help maintain appropriate inventory levels throughout laboratory and warehouse areas
• Perform work in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Document nonconformances and identify opportunities for process improvements
• Perform structured problem-solving to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Perform DG/HazMat shipments if properly qualified
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work closely with other departments to ensure materials are available where needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associate Degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 1 year of material handling experience in a highly regulated environment
• Experience in GMP, ISO, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, or similar environments is highly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow SOPs
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Lean or Six Sigma training is a plus
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Customer-focused, dependable, and willing to take initiative
• HazMat/Dangerous Goods shipping experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods of time
• Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Push and pull wheeled objects weighing up to 800 lbs.
• Occasionally work in a walk-in freezer at temperatures as low as -13&degree;F (-25&degree;C)

Work Schedule

Tuesday–Saturday | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Saturday coverage is required.

Occasional overtime may be required.
