For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. We are searching for a School Counselor to join our growing team in Queensbury, NY. This position follows our school calendar with a mandatory six week summer school session. Responsibilities : The School Social Worker supports the students of the Children Services Division and the mission of the Center by providing comprehensive behavioral health services following guidelines and specific regulations that pertain to the delivery of these services and works collaboratively with administration and team members to ensure quality services to all. Works collaboratively with program directors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality services to allstudents served and their families. Develops recommended annual individualized education plan (IEP) goals and objectives Develops appropriate treatment plans, based on a student’s IEP’s. Provides comprehensive psychosocial services using methods and instruments appropriate to the developmental age and needs of the student. Provides services as indicated on annual IEP. Documents student treatment outcomes correctly and contemporaneously. Implements classroom management and individual behavior intervention Provides assistance as necessary to management and team during student/family crisis and/or suspected child abuse/neglect screening and reporting Requirements : Graduate degree (Masters) in field of SocialWork,Psychology, or Behavioral Sciences. Specialized training, license, certification, skills: Professional experience working withstudents with developmental, physical, neurological disorders, and Autism Spectrum disorderspreferred Less than 1 yr of job related exp required Must be at least 18 years old to apply for this position. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
