Position Overview

The State of Ohio is seeking an experienced Lead AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise AI and Generative AI solutions across Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in conversational AI, Agentic AI, NLP, LLMs, AI APIs, and cloud-native AI services while mentoring development teams and driving enterprise AI initiatives.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 6+ years of IT experience with 4+ years in AI Conversational Agents and Generative AI
• 2+ years of experience developing:
  • Google Conversational Agents
  • CX Agent Studio
  • Dialogflow CX
  • Google CCAI Services
• 2+ years of experience building Enterprise Looker Dashboards for AI agent monitoring
• 2+ years of experience with AWS AI services:
  • AWS Bedrock
  • AWS Transcribe
  • AWS Comprehend
  • AWS Lambda
  • AWS Step Functions
• Strong experience with:
  • Microsoft Foundry
  • Azure AI Search
  • Azure AI Language Services
  • Microsoft Copilot Studio
  • Power Platform
• Experience designing and deploying:
  • Conversational AI
  • Agentic AI
  • Virtual Assistants
  • NLP & LLM-based solutions
• Strong programming skills in:
  • Python
  • C#
  • .NET
  • JavaScript
• Experience developing APIs and integrating enterprise systems
• Experience training, deploying, and monitoring AI models
• Strong communication, leadership, and technical mentoring skills

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise Agentic AI and Conversational AI solutions
• Build AI applications integrating Google, AWS, and Microsoft AI services
• Develop secure APIs and AI integrations
• Design conversational flows and virtual assistants
• Train, deploy, and optimize AI models
• Create AI monitoring dashboards using Looker
• Mentor AI engineers and conduct design/code reviews
• Lead AI proof-of-concept initiatives using emerging technologies
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams
• Ensure AI solutions comply with security, governance, and privacy standards
