Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required: 1.5 years in SD or PCU License: Active state RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Ventilator experience - EKG tele competency assessment Description: This position requires experience in a 1:5 patient ratio in either Step Down or Progressive Care Units. ICU experience does not qualify for this role. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4-6. The unit may participate in a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs collaborate to provide care. Nurses may function in team nursing or primary nursing based on unit needs. Candidates must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting. BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications are mandatory. Travel experience is preferred. Experience with Epic charting system is required. Float assignments may be required. Nurses must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Cancellations may occur due to low census during the contracted period. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. The unit is a mixed acuity unit providing skilled care to a diverse patient population, including conditions such as CVA, TIA, seizures, and other neuro diseases. Staff are responsible for a specific patient population and may also float to other units. Candidates must be comfortable with floating based on unit needs. No additional requests for time off will be accepted after the initial submission. All applicants must be prepared to meet unit requirements and schedules. Relevant disciplines include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Experience with telemetry and management of ventilated patients is essential. Hourly census on the unit is typically 36 patients.
