Tax Partner

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to join its Private Client Services (PCS) practice in Richmond, Virginia. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a senior tax professional with a strong track record of serving high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, partnerships, executives, and family-owned enterprises. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of deep technical tax expertise, strong client relationships, and demonstrated business development success. The Partner will play a key role in expanding the firm's Richmond market presence and growing its Private Client Services platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and expand a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, families, and closely held businesses.
• Provide sophisticated tax planning, consulting, and compliance services across complex individual and business tax matters.
• Advise clients on tax-efficient business structures, transactions, estate and wealth planning considerations, and other strategic tax issues.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with high-value clients and serve as a senior-level advisor.
• Generate new business through an established network of clients, attorneys, wealth advisors, investment professionals, bankers, and other referral sources.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships across firm's broader tax, accounting, advisory, and consulting capabilities.
• Lead and mentor tax professionals while contributing to the development of the Richmond PCS team.
• Participate in market-facing activities, including networking, thought leadership, speaking engagements, and business development initiatives.
• Collaborate with Partners across the firm's Tax, Assurance, and Advisory practices to deliver integrated solutions to clients.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 15+ years of progressive public accounting/tax experience, with significant experience at the Partner or Director level.
• CPA required.
• Deep experience with Private Client Services, individual taxation, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sophisticated and high-net-worth client relationships.
• Proven history of business development and revenue generation within the PCS/private client market.
• Strong network of referral sources and/or an established client following in the Richmond/Virginia market.
