Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the facilities, layout and machinery used for production run to their maximum efficiency and output to improve our business. This includes preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment (including software programming), as well as people management and budgetary and cost reporting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Schedules, trains, supervises and motivates employees for the maintenance department. Ensures efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates. Implements safety policies and procedures for the department. Plans and oversees all repair and installation activities. Sets department objectives/KPIs and reviews and assesses ongoing performance of direct reports. Conducts risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department. Troubleshoots and diagnoses a wide variety of machine malfunctions. Stays current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advises others of any impact, including recognizing the need for critical spares. Coordinates maintenance work performed by outside vendors. Prioritizes the maintenance and repairs of the company equipment and parts in alignment with business needs. Identifies and deploys the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required. Liaises and communicates with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers. Consistently promotes high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each team member understands the standards and behaviors expected of them. Ensures 5S practices are implemented and adhered to. Adheres to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18801 certification requirements. Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively. Understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing. Education and Experience High School Diploma Required. Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering strongly preferred. Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) a plus. 5 to 7 years manufacturing, Engineering or related experience preferred. 3 years\' experience managing a cross-functional team. Previous experience in implementing and maintaining a successful preventive maintenance program. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to extreme temperatures in production areas. Exposure to general production machine noise levels. Exposure to hazards such as electrical and moving mechanical parts. Exposure to fumes. Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, pushing, grasping, feeling, walking and hearing. Required some overhead lifting of up to 40 pounds objects (cardboard boxes, trash bags, odd shaped items, etc.). Required to lift 50 pounds and move odd shaped objects (desks, tables, etc.). Average work-exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and /or negligible amount of force constantly. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with the ability to judge depth and space relationships and bring objects into sharp focus.
