Neuro IR Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Rapid City, SDFacility Information:Level II Trauma CenterLevel III NICULevel II Pediatric TraumaOn the Journey to Magnet Status DesignationPrimary Stroke and Chest Pain CenterTeaching Hospital with 417 BedsPosition Requirements:ICU experience is required for this role.Travelers must live 100+ miles from the facility.Applicants must have at least 2 years of clinical experience; first-time travelers and candidates with only 1 year of experience are not accepted.Patient Care Responsibilities:The Neuro IR Registered Nurse will be a vital member of the Stroke Team and is responsible for the care and management of patients with neurological issues.Endotracheal ventilation, including basic management and understanding of ventilators.Management of tracheostomy patients, including ventilation through stoma.Administration and monitoring of vasoactive and sedation drips.Safe use and monitoring of paralytics.Set-up, troubleshooting, and management of arterial lines.Care for patients with External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) and Camino ICP monitoring.Use and monitoring of external pacemakers and chest tubes.Management of Swan/Cordis central line catheters.Recovery and monitoring of arterial puncture sites.Essential Qualifications:Registered Nurse (RN) with a completed nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.ICU experience is a must.Support and Staffing:No CNA support on the unit.Charge Nurse is available Monday to Friday, 0600 to 1630.IV/VAT Team support is not available.Charting and Equipment:EPIC is required; Epic Cupid is preferred.Equipment includes Alaris and Omnicell systems.Orientation and Scheduling:Orientation for RNs consists of 4 days, 10-hour shifts.Shift options include 4 ten-hour shifts or 8-hour shifts.Additional Notes:Scrub colors for procedural areas will be provided.Free parking is available for all staff.Client Details Address 353 Fairmont Blvd City Rapid City State SD Zip Code 57701 Trauma Level Level 2
