Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Louisville, KY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Night shift position, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Every other weekend required
• 32-bed Advanced Surgical/Med-Surg PCU unit
• Patient population includes bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgery patients
• Patient ratio of 5–6:1
• RNs read telemetry; no titration required
• Medications administered include TPN and pain management
• Required skills include PCA management, feeding tubes, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound VAC
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active KY or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment and reassessment, care plan development and implementation, monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions, and patient/family education
• RNs are expected to delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and may serve in a mentor or preceptor role
• Active participation in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives is expected
• Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs
