Shift Electronic Technician

Support the production shift through machine repairs using sound troubleshooting methods to restore product flow.

Perform set ups, checks and audits on production equipment (Cameras, Imaje printers, etc.)

Build, repair and modify electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical pneumatic equipment in the following areas: production machinery, laboratory equipment, and new engineering projects having to do with equipment.

Four years of high school or equivalent and a two-year degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience. Applicable skills are acquired by taking additional courses in mechanical and technical (i.e., electrical and electronic subjects and schooling at vendors, manufacturing facilities, etc.)

Must have knowledge of and be able to build electrical and electronic components commonly used in production machines.

Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and electronic components used in production machinery.

Must be willing and able to travel to our customers in order to troubleshoot problems with our machinery if required.

Moderate contacts with others outside the department or outside the Company, calling for normal cooperation.

Frequent requirement of eye-hand coordination, high degree of dexterity is regularly involved.

Infrequent exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions.

Some exposure to hazards that could cause relatively serious illness or injury (i.e., exposure to high voltage)

Three to five years is usually required for a person to acquire the mental and manual skills needed to perform the job.

Work Shift: 12 hour shift, with occasional voluntary or mandatory overtime.

Shift: 4 days on/4 days off rotating days to nights monthly (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am)

Education/Training Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, 2-4 years of experience in industrial/electrical controls

PPE: ANSI Z41 approved safety shoes, hearing and eye protection as appropriate for work area, gloves according to work tasks, protective clothing and protective sleeves, occasional hard hat, face shield and goggles, lanyard, safety harness and other PPE as assigned and required.

Tools and Equipment: Various hand, power and pneumatic tools, mobile equipment, transport carts and devices, cleaning supplies, grease gun, aerosol cans, spray bottles, drill press, grinding and vacuum equipment, writing utensils, computer and keyboard mouse, tape measure, Multimeters, Amp meters, soldering tools

Communicate clearly in English both verbally and written.

Wear appropriate required safety gear.

Attend work regularly and reliably.

Work flexible shifts and overtime as scheduled or directed.

Ability to work with a positive attitude in a team environment.

Conformance to company performance rules such as work instructions, working standards, policies, etc.

Conformance to behavioral rules, expectations, and company policies.

Build, repair, modify electrical and or electronics in production machinery and new engineering projects related to equipment.

Knowledge of electrical and electronic components commonly used in production machines and an expert knowledge of troubleshooting these components.

Recommend minor changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

Operate machine shop tools as necessary to fabricate non-procurable items, and bracketry.

Assist in writing operational manuals and procedures relating to the operation and maintenance of company equipment, electronically or electrically.

Assist company technical personnel in any other manner agreeable to both parties.

Assume back up role of company electrician, when needed, in building and grounds department.

Visual attention to detail work.

Participate in work related training programs.

F - Pinching: Small tools, parts, wires, hardware knobs, levers, controls, may be repetitive or static positions

C - Finger Isolation: To operate machine controls, phone, computer mouse and to perform data entry, may be repetitive or static positions

O - Finger Flexion: To operate drill, may be repetitive or static positions, may have vibratory component

O - Laying on Back: To perform work on machinery and equipment, may be static position

Employee assumes responsibility for their own work. He/she is presumed to know the routine work details and performance standards of the job, but refers questionable items to their immediate supervisor. He/she places and arranges their own work schedule, but carries out work within the parameters of the project set forth by immediate supervisor. An average amount of independent and individual action. Duties are diversified and semi-repetitive. Methods and procedures are standardized.

Environmental Conditions: Warehouse production facility or office environment which is climate controlled. Employees may work around moving parts and mobile equipment. Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection if in production area. May have exposure to chemicals (cleaning supplies).
