Dining Experience Specialist Part Time Service Workers Newtown Square, PA, US 8 days ago Requisition ID: 1220 $21.00 Annually DEPARTMENT: Dining Services Date of Last Revision: March 2026 Reports to: Assistant Dining Director Purpose of Job The primary purpose of this position is to welcome residents to the dining venue and deliver an exceptional dining experience at White Horse Village. The Dining Experience Specialist goes beyond traditional restaurant service by focusing on relationship-centered hospitality, recognizing that dining is a meaningful part of residents’ daily lives, social engagement, and overall well‑being. In this role, the Dining Experience Specialist provides attentive, personalized service while building positive relationships with residents and guests. By learning resident preferences, anticipating needs, and creating a warm and welcoming dining environment, the specialist ensures that each resident enjoys a consistent and exceptional dining experience that reflects the community’s commitment to hospitality, dignity, and care. Through advanced menu knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and the ability to manage service challenges with empathy and professionalism, the Dining Experience Specialist contributes directly to resident satisfaction and the overall success of the dining program. Administrative Functions Maintain a good work rapport with inter‑departmental personnel. Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing departmental activities as directed. Assist coordinating departmental service with other departments. Adhere to all WHV policies and procedures. Perform administrative duties such as filing, completing forms, reading memos and attend meetings, as directed. Create and maintain a good customer service environment. Attend and participate in all required in‑services and educational classes. Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and coursework, as directed. Safety and Sanitation Follow and establish safety procedures and precautions when performing the aspects of your job. Report all injuries immediately to your supervisor. Lift using proper technique. Assist others when directed. Report all unsafe and hazardous conditions and equipment to your supervisor. Maintain a work area that is clean and hazard free. Follow all infection control procedures as they apply. Know and follow fire and disaster plans. Use personal protective equipment when performing tasks that might involve infectious materials. Equipment and Supply Usage Report all equipment malfunctions or breakdowns immediately. Report low or depleted supplies to the appropriate person. Use equipment for its intended purpose. Follow correct official procedures when using equipment. Resident Rights Maintain the confidentiality of resident information. Handle all resident property with respect. Knock before entering a resident’s dwelling. Ensure that residents are treated fairly and with respect, allowing for individuality and privacy. Uphold the residents’ civil rights. Regulatory Compliance Follow all OSHA, CDC guidelines. Review Safety Data Sheets prior to working with any chemicals. Treat all team members fairly & equally (comply with WHV non‑discrimination policy). Adhere to all local, state or federal regulations as they apply. Completes annual compliance training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the code of conduct in the performance of their duties. Abides by White Horse Village’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties. Committee Function Serve on committees as assigned. When serving on a committee, participate to the fullest of your ability. General Job Functions Resident‑Centered Hospitality Provide attentive, personalized dining service that delivers an exceptional dining experience for every resident and guest. Develop meaningful relationships with residents by learning and remembering their preferences, dietary considerations, and favorite menu selections. Create a welcoming and engaging dining environment where residents feel recognized, valued, and comfortable. Anticipate resident needs such as beverage refills, menu assistance, or seating support before being asked. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism when assisting residents with varying levels of independence. Premium Dining Service Deliver high‑touch service standards that elevate the dining experience beyond traditional table service. Provide knowledgeable recommendations regarding menu items, daily specials, and food and beverage pairings. Accurately take and process orders while ensuring dietary requirements and special requests are followed. Maintain a polished and professional presence that reflects the community’s hospitality standards. Coordinate with culinary and dining team members to ensure smooth, efficient service and a consistently exceptional dining experience. Resident Satisfaction & Service Recovery Monitor resident satisfaction throughout the meal and proactively address concerns or requests. Utilize service recovery techniques to resolve concerns with empathy, professionalism, and accountability. Communicate resident feedback to dining leadership to support continuous improvement in service and menu offerings. Contribute to consistently high resident satisfaction and positive dining experiences. Serve as a dependable and experienced team member during busy meal periods and special dining events. Provide informal mentorship and support to new team members by modeling hospitality excellence. Assist with maintaining service flow and supporting team members when needed. Contribute to a positive and collaborative dining team culture focused on resident satisfaction. Dining Room Excellence Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and dining room presentation. Prepare dining areas, service stations, and tables before service and maintain them throughout the shift. Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control standards relevant to dining services. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including table reset and service station preparation. Event & Special Occasion Support Assist in planning and serving during special dining events, holiday meals, and private resident functions. Ensure seamless service for events, accommodating resident preferences and dietary requirements. Communicate event details and resident needs with the team to ensure high‑quality execution. Specific Tasks Set tables with proper linens, place settings, and décor before each meal service. Accurately take and process resident meal orders, adhering to dietary restrictions. Serve meals and beverages in a timely, professional manner. Monitor tables during meals to maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable environment. Assist residents with seating, menu selection, or other needs as required. Communicate resident preferences and feedback to culinary and service teams. Support new team members with onboarding, mentoring, and modeling service excellence. Assist with pre‑ and post‑service tasks, including stocking, cleaning, and resetting tables. Provide elevated service during special events, holiday meals, and private functions. Perform all other duties as assigned. Attends monthly town hall meetings as scheduled. Compliance Requirements Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of duties. Adheres to the Organizations Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns. Follows all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to the position. Adheres to the Organization’s Policy and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
