Wilson County Government offers a salary range of $38,736.00 - $65,472.00 annually for this position. The job is located at 2201 Miller Rd, South Wilson, NC and is a full-time role. The department is WATER.

Job responsibilities include performing intermediate skilled trades work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water lines, pump stations, water storage tanks, flushing hydrants, performing service orders, reading and maintaining water meters, collecting water samples, locating water lines, and doing related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Water System Director.

Specific duties and responsibilities include reading water meters, processing service orders, assisting in the maintenance, repair, and construction of the water system infrastructure, investigating customer concerns regarding water quality, providing customer service, inspecting and maintaining water system pumping stations, operating motorized equipment, performing general maintenance duties, and serving in emergency stand by capacity.

Minimum education and experience required include a high school diploma or GED and minimal experience involving the operation and maintenance of water systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina and possession of or ability to obtain Backflow Cross Connection and Water Distribution certifications are also required.

Physical requirements include the ability to operate a variety of equipment and machinery, exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and maintain body equilibrium when bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching, and/or stretching arms, legs, or other parts of the body. Data conception, interpersonal communication, language ability, intelligence, verbal aptitude, numerical aptitude, form/spatial aptitude, motor coordination, manual dexterity, color discrimination, interpersonal temperament, and physical communication are also required.
