Reporting Relationships The Material Handler will report to the Plant Supervisor. This role has no direct reports. Competitive wages Based on experience Position Summary The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution center. It is a fast paced position that requires prior experience. This position is responsible for the safe and effective handling of materials, ensuring that products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. The Material Handler will operate various types of equipment, including wheel loaders and pallet jacks, to facilitate the movement of goods throughout the facility. Attention to detail is essential, as the role involves order picking and inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels. Ultimately, the Material Handler contributes to the overall productivity and success of the supply chain by ensuring that materials are handled with care and efficiency. Essential duties and responsibilities Operate material handling equipment such as front-end loaders, wheel loaders, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move products within the warehouse and stock production lines. Experience operating heavy machinery including but not limited to Volvo L70 and John Deere 544P. Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and ensure proper storage of materials. Pick and pack orders accurately for shipping, ensuring that all items are correctly labeled and documented. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices. Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on site. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor. Ability to be a team player. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Proven 2+ years’ experience in material handling or warehouse operations. Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to operate a variety of lifts, (forklift, clamp truck, stand-up, Front end loader), and stretch wrap machinery, manual and/or electric hand jack, strapping equipment, bailers/compactor, and core cutter. Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper and micrometer. Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldly parts weighing approximately 50 lbs. Must demonstrate a dedicated commitment to a safety first attitude in an interdependent environment. They must be able to observe their immediate area for safe operation of mobile industrial equipment in crowded areas. Occasionally, they may be asked to maneuver items by hand and be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to hear, speak and sit up to 8-10 hours per day. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. Must be able to sit/stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, crouch/crawl, push/pull as required. Specific vision abilities are required for this job including close and distant vision.
