Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Care located in Kearney, Nebraska. The position involves providing specialized patient care in a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with an emphasis on adult medical and surgical patients, including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer, and renal failure cases. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Kearney, Nebraska
• Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Night shifts, with every other weekend and minimum of 2 holidays within the contract time frame
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Required Qualifications: RN license, minimum of 2 years' adult med/surg or critical care experience, competent in arterial lines, must pass a skills exam with a 90% minimum, and have a valid drivers license for distance verification
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in adult cardiac med/surg, dialysis, stroke, post stent, or post pacer care; good communication skills; flexibility and willingness to learn; experience reading telemetry strips
• Additional Information:
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, with strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience with telemetry monitors and arterial line management preferred
  • Floating to medical-surgical or ICU units may be required
  • Follows facility policies regarding artificial nails and patient care equipment
  • Shift orientation includes one day of unit-specific training
