Contract | 12 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced, non-trauma Emergency Department serving patients across all age ranges, from neonates to geriatrics
• Manage a patient assignment of up to 1:4, with a ratio of up to 1:5 in lower-acuity situations, across a 66-bed department with an average census of approximately 200 patients
• Care for patients presenting with multiple complex diagnoses in a dynamic ED environment
• Rotate and float as needed within the ED, including assignment to the 10-bed ED Hold/Observation unit (ratio 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity)
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Participate in required holiday shifts as scheduled; no pre-scheduled on-call shifts required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact license at time of submission
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
• PALS certification – American Heart Association only
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• CPI certification required (online version: The Calm Every Storm is the only acceptable online vendor)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; first-time travelers with strong ED experience will be considered
• Must be comfortable floating within specialty, including to the ED Hold/Observation unit, with no restrictions
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with EPIC EMR
• Experience in a high-volume or high-acuity Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with ED Hold/Observation unit workflows
