Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential and community living services, clinical services, and a vocational day program for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia, and other cognitive disorders.

We are looking for an energetic and compassionate Assistant Supervisor to support our Program Manager in the efficient operation of our Foothill Program. Foothill Home is a residential four-bedroom enhanced behavioral supports home located in Santa Barbara, designed to provide care for adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who may have additional medical or behavioral health concerns. The primary goal is to have individuals live in a welcoming learning environment that helps them lead productive, happy, and engaged lives within the broader community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct care support to individuals served

  • Providing guidance and support to staff

  • Management of petty cash funds

  • Staff scheduling and allocation per established staff/individual served ratios within programs

  • Maintaining, collecting (from assigned staff) and entering all PSR compliance data

  • Overseeing accurate and timely collection of data by Direct Care Staff, per individual goals and objectives

  • Entering data into electronic health system

  • Planning and creating activities for individuals served

  • Other duties as assigned by Program Administrator

  • Creating milieu support, schedules, and other materials

  • Assistance with hygiene care. Includes males and females

  • Must have the ability to work with individuals with severe aggression and challenging behaviors

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required. BA degree in a related field preferred. May substitute some education and related experience for education.

  • Must obtain Direct Support Professional Year 1 Certification within 6-months of employment

  • Must obtain Direct Support Professional Year 2 Certification within 12-months of employment. If employee is DSP Year 1 certified upon hire, then DSP Year 2 certification must be obtained within 6-months of employment.

  • Must be a Registered Behavioral Technician or willing to obtain certification within 60-days of initial employment, OR be either a Licensed Psychiatric Technician or Qualified Behavior Modification Professional

  • Must obtain Adult Residential Administrator (ARF) Certification through the State of California, Community Care Licensing Division, upon hire

  • First Aid and CPR certification required

  • Proficiency using Word & Excel

Experience:

A minimum of 12-months experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities. 2 years of experience and prior supervisory experience in developmental services highly preferred.
