Ford Pickup & Delivery Driver

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused Pickup & Delivery Driver to join our Ford Service team.

The Pickup & Delivery Driver is responsible for safely transporting customer vehicles between the customer's home or business and our dealership for scheduled maintenance and repairs. This position is often the first and last face our customers see during their service visit , so professionalism, friendliness, and exceptional customer service are extremely important.

Drivers will be provided with a company iPhone and will use the DriverQ application to document each vehicle before transportation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely pick up customer vehicles from homes, businesses, and other approved locations.
• Transport customer vehicles safely to the dealership for service.
• Deliver completed vehicles back to customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Greet every customer in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Provide a positive customer experience during both vehicle pickup and delivery.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers regarding the pickup or delivery process.
• Treat every customer vehicle as if it were your own.
• Follow assigned pickup and delivery schedules and communicate any delays promptly.
• Verify the correct customer and vehicle before completing a pickup or delivery.
• Handle customer vehicle keys responsibly and maintain proper key control.
• Follow all traffic laws and dealership safety procedures.
• Immediately notify management of any accident, vehicle damage, warning light, mechanical concern, customer concern, or unusual situation.
• Maintain communication with the Pickup & Delivery team and Service Department throughout the workday.
• Assist with moving and organizing vehicles around the dealership when needed.
• Assist with other Service Department responsibilities as assigned.

DriverQ Vehicle Documentation

Drivers will be provided with a company-issued iPhone and access to the DriverQ application.

DriverQ must be properly completed for each applicable customer vehicle before transportation.

Drivers are responsible for:

• Verifying the vehicle information in DriverQ.
• Recording the vehicle's current mileage.
• Recording the vehicle's current fuel level.
• Completing a clear video walk-around of the entire vehicle .
• Documenting existing scratches, dents, wheel damage, windshield damage, or other visible vehicle conditions.
• Ensuring all required DriverQ documentation is completed before leaving with the customer's vehicle.

Accurate vehicle documentation is an important responsibility of this position and helps protect both the customer and the dealership.

Customer Service Expectations

Pickup & Delivery Drivers represent our dealership while interacting with customers in the community.

Drivers are expected to:

• Be friendly, respectful, and helpful with every customer.
• Maintain a professional and clean appearance.
• Greet customers and introduce themselves professionally.
• Treat customers, their property, and their vehicles with respect.
• Be patient and courteous when answering basic customer questions.
• Never argue with or be disrespectful toward a customer.
• Refer service-related questions or concerns to the appropriate Service Advisor or manager.
• Thank customers for choosing our dealership when completing the pickup or delivery.

Providing an exceptional customer experience is a core responsibility of this position.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Clean or acceptable driving record that meets dealership and insurance requirements.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Professional, clean appearance and demeanor.
• Comfortable driving a variety of cars, trucks, SUVs, and customer vehicles.
• Ability to safely operate automatic transmission vehicles.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
• Comfortable using an iPhone and mobile applications.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow a daily schedule.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to follow instructions and dealership procedures.
• Ability to work independently while staying in communication with the team.
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Customer Vehicle Standards

While operating a customer's vehicle, drivers may not:

• Speed or operate the vehicle recklessly.
• Smoke or vape inside the vehicle.
• Eat or drink inside the customer's vehicle.
• Make unauthorized stops or detours.
• Use the customer's belongings.
• Allow unauthorized passengers inside the vehicle.
• Use the vehicle for any personal purpose.
• Use a handheld cellular device while driving.

Any accident, damage, traffic citation, or other incident involving a customer vehicle must be reported to management immediately .

Company Equipment

The dealership will provide:

• Company-issued iPhone.
• Access to the DriverQ application.
• Any additional equipment necessary to perform assigned Pickup & Delivery responsibilities.

Employees are responsible for keeping company-issued equipment secure, charged, and in good condition.
