Patient Access Representative

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90033 (Remote, with onsite as needed) Job Description: The Patient Access Liaison II is the primary point of contact for patients seeking access to an academic medical center’s services. Answer, screen, and route incoming and outgoing calls Respond to inquiries by phone, email, text, and web-based systems Schedule and confirm new and follow-up patient appointments Register patients and verify insurance eligibility Review insurance benefits and communicate estimated patient financial responsibility Perform accurate data entry and reconcile patient information Route messages to providers and clinical staff using multiple communication platforms Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High school diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years of experience in a call center, customer service, and/or healthcare environment (or a combination) Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multitask across multiple computer applications while on calls Comfortable handling high volume inbound calls and difficult or upset patients Experience meeting productivity or performance goals Strong attendance record and stable work history Ability to work independently in a remote environment Dedicated, distraction-free workspace with reliable high-speed internet Preferred: Experience with EMR, medical scheduling, or practice management systems Knowledge of HIPAA, health insurance plans, and medical terminology Bilingual (Spanish, Chinese, or other languages) highly preferred Recent college graduates interested in a healthcare career are welcome Schedule & Work Arrangement: Staggered shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM; weekends and overtime optional Remote role, but must report onsite when needed (training, meetings, equipment issues, internet or power outages) Equipment must be picked up onsite on Day 1 and returned onsite at the end of the assignment; it will not be shipped Must live within a reasonable commute of Los Angeles, such as Orange County, Long Beach, or Riverside #J-18808-Ljbffr LeadStack Inc.
