Work Location: Bradenton, FL As Part Of This Role, You Will Notify the appropriate leader of immediate or pending system errors or system problems Directs problem accounts to the appropriate leader Transmits electronic claims daily and confirms transmittals are accepted by all payers Advises operational leader(s) of front desk staff billing errors. Reviews patient bills for accuracy & completeness and obtains any missing information. Prepares, reviews, and transmits claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing. Follows up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe. Checks each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts. Calls insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary. Identifies and bills secondary or tertiary insurances. Requirements High School Graduate or GED required Working knowledge of medical terminology required Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding preferred Working knowledge in Managed Care, Government Payers, and Private Payers Working knowledge of Payer websites (e.g., Availity, Optum, Navient, Waystar, etc.) Electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred (Athena a plus) Summary In a broad scope, the Biller position focuses on the accuracy and completeness of claims for quality documentation reporting and to maximize reimbursement. This role completes tracking and trending of denied claims, errors, and/or other assigned issues to be communicated to the applicable AMA and MCR Revenue Cycle Leader. Lastly, this role serves as a documentation resource for providers and clinical staff. MCR Health is a drug-free workplace.
