Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and utilize appropriate patient education materials relevant to the patient population.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care or high-risk discharge planning.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and promotion of a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
