Senior Systems AdministratorWe are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support advanced research and development lab environments focused on server infrastructure, hardware operations, test automation support, and enterprise systems administration. This role is highly hands-on and combines traditional systems administration with hardware deployment, infrastructure troubleshooting, lab operations, and environment management within fast-paced engineering and development ecosystems.The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with physical hardware and enterprise infrastructure while also supporting virtualized systems, operating systems, automation environments, and internal lab operations. This individual should thrive in technically complex environments where priorities shift quickly and collaboration with engineering, development, and infrastructure teams is essential.In This RoleIn this role, you will support complex lab and development environments by deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing server and client infrastructure. You will partner closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure hardware, networking, virtualization, and operating systems are functioning reliably across test and development environments. You will also assist with lab expansion efforts, hardware lifecycle management, automation support, and infrastructure documentation while helping maintain operational excellence across multiple technical workstreams.ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support Windows Server and Linux-based lab environmentsDeploy, configure, image, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, and specialized test hardwareBuild and support virtualized environments using Hyper-V and related technologiesConfigure and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, networking, and remote access systemsSupport hardware deployment activities including rack-and-stack, cabling, KVM configuration, and device onboardingPerform break/fix troubleshooting across server, network, firmware, operating system, and infrastructure componentsConduct firmware updates, hardware diagnostics, and root cause analysisMonitor and maintain lab infrastructure health, capacity, and operational readinessSupport test automation and engineering teams with infrastructure setup and maintenanceConfigure and support remote management tools such as iLO, iDRAC, KVMoIP, and console access systemsMaintain inventory, asset tracking, and operational documentationCoordinate equipment moves, deployments, and decommissioning activitiesUtilize ticketing and operational management systems such as ServiceNow or equivalentParticipate in infrastructure planning, environment optimization, and operational improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with operational, safety, and security standardsWork Breakdown60% Systems administration and infrastructure support25% Hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and lab operations10% Documentation, ticketing, and operational coordination5% Meetings and cross-functional collaborationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred5+ years of systems administration experience in enterprise, lab, or infrastructure-heavy environmentsStrong experience supporting Windows Server environmentsExperience with virtualization technologies including Hyper-VHands-on experience with server hardware deployment and troubleshootingExperience supporting networking infrastructure and cabling within lab or data center environmentsFamiliarity with Active Directory, DNS, imaging, patching, and endpoint management toolsExperience with remote management platforms such as iLO, iDRAC, KVM systems, or equivalentStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across hardware and software systemsExperience working within fast-paced engineering, R&D, or test lab environments preferredExcellent communication, organizational, and documentation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to operational issuesAbility to lift and move equipment as needed within lab environmentsAbility to work onsite in Redmond, WAPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting pre-production or engineering lab environmentsExperience with SCCM, Azure, or enterprise endpoint management toolsExperience supporting firmware validation or hardware testing environmentsFamiliarity with Linux administration and scriptingCompTIA A+, Network+, or similar infrastructure certificationsExperience supporting enterprise-scale deployment and automation environmentsSalary RangeAt Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market.For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $38.46 to $48.08 USD/hour, with a midpoint of $43.27 USD/hour. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
