Lead Technician

Employment Type: Part-Time to start. There is a strong advancement path to becoming a Full-Time employee and potentially a C-suite executive. Department: Operations Technovate is seeking a Lead Technician to fulfill the requirements of a Level 2 Technician (PC, Mac, Mobile, Android, and IOS) to support the endpoints and mobile devices being used by Technovate’s clients. This includes Help-Desk tickets and security for client’s organizations. Technovate is also seeking interested applicants who are seeking a growth path/career through the apprenticeship listed in the description outlined below. Required skills and attributes: Backup/restoration as needed. File Server support. Cloud Server support. User mailbox support/troubleshooting and administration. Software/Hardware installation. Device installation/troubleshooting/support. This will typically and mostly be done on desktops and laptops. This may require virtual and/or on-site support. Remote user setup/support and troubleshooting. End-user training. Daily check in to the company toolkit and malware suite managing endpoints. Network and firewall management. Remediation skills are a plus. Record and update required information for all IT-related tickets. Inform company owner of any pressing items that require attention. Accurately answer user support questions of software and hardware by email or call. Provide desk-side training for new employees and staff, consisting of basic instructions on accessing and using standard desktop applications. These applications will be highlighted by client prior to on-boarding. Troubleshooting is one of the most crucial parts of the role. Candidate must be ready to solve issues no matter how big or small. Ability to step up to new challenges and breaking comfort zone of tech needs to the business. Technology is everchanging. Any employee seeking this position must be adaptable, willing to grow, and be ready for any new challenges that may arise on the job. Qualifications: Strong proficiency and technical experience in windows and mac environments. Strong familiarity and background with Microsoft and Google environments. Strong familiarity and a fluency responding in under 1 hour to client help-desk needs. If the matter is urgent or critical, the response time is under 10 minutes. Strong communication skills and time management skills. The desire to grow and continuously learn new ways to create stronger and more secure environments for clients. The desire to resolve and make sure that all issues are handled in a professional and timely manner. Must have a means of transportation. Preferred method would be a personal vehicle and not public transport. In addition to being a Lead Technician on the IT side of Technovate’s business: There will be an apprenticeship and growth path on the Audio/Video/Smart Automation/ and Security side of Technovate’s business. The objective is to have a dual-purpose technician. The technician who is selected for the Lead technician role will receive more than sufficient training. They will not be left alone on a jobsite until they are 100% comfortable with running jobs solo. There will be months of shadowing and training that the apprentice will have directly with the owner. This apprentice will be paid for the time they spend on Technovate’s jobs. Training pay is included when the employee signs their agreement. There are no required certifications or trainings that the technician will have to go through in order to shadow the owner. The final outcome is to allow for a stronger growth and career path in Technovate’s chain of leadership. This is a 1099 contractor position. There is opportunity for growth and moving into a full-time salaried employee and becoming a W2 employee. Hourly rate: Minimum $20-$25 depending on experience (to start) Hours required: Minimum 20-25 hours a week. Training pay is provided at the minimum pay rate listed above. 90-day probationary period for the employee who comes onboard. After 90 days, Technovate will assess the employee’s performance. This will then allow Technovate to assess the growth path for the employee. Must have the availability and means to get to jobs in the field. Mileage reimbursement is not available at this point in time. It will be at some point (within the next 6 months – 1 year).
