Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary:

The Medical Technician is responsible for supporting high-quality laboratory testing within a clinical laboratory setting. This role involves preparing specimens, performing routine and specialized tests, and ensuring accuracy through quality control measures to support patient diagnosis and care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare laboratory specimens for testing and analysis.
  
  
• 
  Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology and chemistry.
  
  
• 
  Conduct specialized laboratory procedures and interpret results.
  
  
• 
  Maintain laboratory equipment through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  
  
• 
  Ensure quality control protocols are followed and resolve errors promptly.
  
  
• 
  Communicate technical information effectively to medical staff and laypersons.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or a relevant scientific discipline.
  
  
• 
  Be certified as a Medical Technician by ASCP BOC or an equivalent organization.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience, especially in hematology and/or chemistry.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting.
  
  
• 
  Have South Carolina RN license or pending application with proof of licensure process.
  
  
• 
  Be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with on-call capability.
