Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, ensuring the safe and effective management of acute and high-risk patients. Recognizes and responds to life-threatening emergencies with competence in ECG interpretation and critical care procedures.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer medications, intravenous therapy, and blood products following established protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms, managing patients during critical events.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses.
  
  
• 
  Ensure equipment and alarm settings are appropriate, verifying them with monitoring technicians.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a current RN license in the state of practice.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 6 months of recent telemetry or cardiac step-down experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in ECG interpretation and emergency response protocols.
  
  
• 
  Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia and Critical Care courses preferred.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS within required timeframes.
  
  
• 
  Associate Degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
