Overview Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation | Select Medical 1199 Pleasant Valley way West Orange NJ 07052 Acute Rehab - Inpatient Rehab Wound Care Nurse Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 8hr shift We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Wound Care Nurse for our rehab hospital in West Orange, NJ. Benefits of becoming a nurse with us: Pay Range: $45.00 to $57.00 Student Debt Benefit Program ADN to BSN scholarships Tuition Assistance up to $5,000 a year after your first full year of employment Clinical Advancement Program Full-benefits package (Including medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, short and long term disability & more) Flexible scheduling with rotating weekends Manageable case loads Team-oriented and collaborative culture Responsibilities As a Wound Care Nurse at one of our medical rehabilitation hospitals you will establish a leadership role in the wound care program, establishing standards of care across the hospitals and programs in collaboration with Select Medical wound care experts. Develops and deploys evidence-based clinical protocols and algorithms to support the best clinical outcomes for wound management, including development and updating product formulary. Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care. Collaborates with Medical leadership on wound care initiatives, research questions, and outcome measures to support program innovation and excellence. Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families. Analyzes patterns of wounds across programs and hospitals, and identifies targeted PI activities to improve wound outcomes and mitigate pressure sore development. Works in collaboration with Education department to assure coordination of all educational initiatives and activities to support the overall objectives and goals of the department and the organization. Maintains the database to track staff education, competency and credentials and utilizes the database to evaluate and plan for future educational activities and programs. Works under the direction of the Director of Education on nursing education projects and initiatives related to skin, wound and ostomy management. Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications Minimum requirements: Valid State RN License required BLS required at hire Previous hospital nursing experience required Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required WCC required. CWCN, CWOCN, or CWS preferred, or certification prending within 1 year Preferred qualifications: BSN or enrollment in BSN program preferred Additional Data Select Medical is an organization that is passionate about safety for our patients and our team members.
