The Director of Fort Worth Operations & Support works directly with the Vice President of External Operations and Dean of Tarleton State Fort Worth to ensure effective coordination and oversight of the university's extended campuses. The position serves as a primary operational resource for Tarleton State Fort Worth Chisholm Trail and Texas A&M-Fort Worth located in downtown, supporting the day-to-day needs of students, faculty, staff, university leadership, and internal and external partners.

The Director is responsible for coordinating campus operations and services, managing office and space assignments, supporting facilities-related projects, coordinating events and activities, and facilitating access to university resources and services. The position works across university divisions and with external vendors and partners to identify needs, resolve issues, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely implementation of priorities.

The position serves as an important liaison between the Vice President's office and university departments supporting Fort Worth locations and may represent the Vice President/Dean at meetings, events, and other activities as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

60% Fort Worth Operations, Logistics & Support

• Provide leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operational needs of Tarleton State Fort Worth Chisholm Trail and Texas A&M-Fort Worth.

• Serve as a primary point of coordination for operational matters affecting students, faculty, staff, and university partners at the Fort Worth locations.

• Coordinate with university divisions, departments, and external partners to facilitate effective campus services and resolve operational needs.

• Serve as a liaison and division lead for areas such as:

  • Scheduling and Events

  • Facilities and Building Services

  • Food and Beverage

  • Texan Outfitters

  • Texan Card

  • Parking

  • Campus Safety

  • IT & Technology

  • Library Services

  • Fort Worth Texan Hub

• Provide primary oversight of office and workspace assignments for Fort Worth faculty and staff

• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes specific to Fort Worth locations, including campus directory information, keys, building access, and swipe access.

• Maintain and coordinate updates to resources and information supporting faculty and staff working at Fort Worth locations, including the Tarleton State Fort Worth related Resource Guides.

• Coordinate facilities, building, and infrastructure-related projects, working with appropriate university departments and partners to support timely and effective completion.

• Identify operational needs and provide recommendations and forecasting to the Vice President and Dean.

• Monitor operational issues and coordinate timely resolution, escalating matters as appropriate.

• Support the effective implementation of university policies, procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards at Fort Worth locations.

• Help ensure Fort Worth extended campuses are prepared to support evolving enrollment, staffing, programming, and facility needs.

• Represent the Vice President/Dean at meetings and activities as assigned.

25% Events & Fort Worth Programming

• Provide leadership and coordination for events and activities hosted at or associated with Tarleton State's Fort Worth locations, including both university and external groups.

• Coordinate the planning, logistics, execution, and follow-up for select university events, programs, meetings, and special activities in Fort Worth.

• Serve as a central point of coordination for internal university groups utilizing Fort Worth facilities for meetings, programs, conferences, receptions, and other activities.

• Coordinate logistics for external organizations and community partners utilizing or engaging with Fort Worth facilities, in collaboration with appropriate offices and/or teams.

• Develop event logistics plans, including space assignments, room setups, building access, parking, technology coordination, food and beverage, signage, security, and other event requirements.

• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure successful event execution.

• Establish and maintain event planning processes, timelines, checklists, and other resources that promote consistency and efficiency.

• Assist with post-event evaluation and identification of opportunities to improve the Fort Worth event experience.

• Provide on-site leadership and support for events occurring outside standard business hours as needed.

15% Supervision & Team Leadership

• Supervise and provide direction for the Fort Worth Operations & Support student team, including approximately one to two graduate assistants and three student workers.

• Recruit, train, onboard, schedule, supervise, and evaluate assigned graduate assistants and student workers.

• Establish clear responsibilities, expectations, and work priorities.

• Delegate assignments and monitor completion of projects and operational tasks.

• Provide coaching, professional development, and opportunities for students to gain meaningful higher education and event/operations experience.

• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture.

• Ensure appropriate coverage and support for campus operations and events.

• Coordinate student team assignments across daily operations, events, projects, and other priorities of the Fort Worth locations.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience – Ten years of experience in campus operations, event management, facilities coordination, student services, or a related field.

Preferred Qualification s

• Experience working in a higher education environment.

• Experience coordinating operations across multiple departments, locations, or facilities.

• Experience planning and executing institutional, community, or large-scale events.

• Experience supervising professional, graduate, or student employees.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Salary Range:

The target base annual salary range is $65,370 up to $82,000 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
