Behavioral Health Nurse Supervisor

What You’ll Do at DBH At the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), Nurse Supervisors play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well‑being of clients. They oversee direct care nursing services and act as a liaison between medical services and other disciplines. Receives administrative direction from the Nurse Executive for the planning and implementation of total nursing care on assigned shift Provides general and direct supervision to nursing staff Makes rounds of residential areas and monitors the nursing care plan documentation, recovery‑focused therapeutic programs and environmental safety residential area Serves as Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) for the entire facility after hours as needed How We Pay & Benefits This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of 15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule . Normal working hours are 1st shift 6:30 am–3:00 pm, 2nd shift 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, and 3rd shift 10:45 pm–6:45 am (Flexible Schedule). The position is located within our Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare Campus at 100 Hospital Drive, Athens, Ohio 45701. Additional Salary / Appointment Information Must be able to complete a 4‑week full‑time orientation (Will include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts, and weekends) May work weekends and holidays; may be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment Position Qualifications Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code 24 months’ experience in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities 3 months’ training or 3 months’ experience in employee training & development 3 courses or 9 months’ experience in public relations 3 courses or 9 months’ experience in counseling Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure All eligible applications shall be reviewed considering the following criteria: qualifications, experience, education, active disciplinary record, and work record Job, Technical, and Professional Skills Job Skills: Nursing Technical Skills: Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Communications, Direct Support/Direct Care, Nursing Professional Skills: Critical Thinking, Conflict Management, Building Trust, Emotional Intelligence, Confidentiality, Attention to Detail, Written Communication, Observation #J-18808-Ljbffr
