In addition, the Buyer Planner II is the communication and logistics link between stakeholders such as Value Streams, Supervisors, Marketing, Master Scheduler, and Purchasing. ### **Scope of job responsibility:** * ### Responsible for effectively coordinating the planning of customer repair units to support the Aftermarket organization; includes oversight, purchase requisition placement and reschedules.### * ### Entering purchase orders for Supplier Integrated Parts (SIP Parts) and following up on open PO’s for SIP parts with SIP Vendors.### * ### Coordinate resolution of material related issues to ensure availability of required materials.### * ### Schedule repair jobs through the shop to achieve One-Time-Delivery and contractual Turn-Around-Times.### * ### Champion new ideas and processes to improve efficiency, cost reduction, and on-hand inventory.### ### **Knowledge & Experience:** * ### Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in buying/planning.### * ### HS Diploma (college degree or some college in related field preferred)### * ### Solid understanding of material planning and scheduling methods### * ### Knowledge of industry supply chain best practices and innovations related to delivery performance, cost management, material handling, and lead time reduction### * ### Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and with all management levels in a dynamic environment### * ### Strong interpersonal and communications skills### * ### Strong decision-making ability and creative problem solving skills### ### **Minimum Qualifications:** * ### Experience: 2+ years of experience buying in a similar industry or demonstrated equivalent knowledge of supply chain function through work experience or school * ### Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process used in the operating unit of assignment; Working knowledge of buying, and ordering procedures; Working knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning and Kanban systems; Working knowledge of computer systems that support production, e.g., inventory control, purchasing, production scheduling and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) * ### Skills/Abilities: Well-developed skill in communicating with others; Proficiency in Excel and Word and ability to work with Access databases; Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams, solve urgent problems associated with the manufacture of products and document and communicate production outcomes and trends; Ability to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information; Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams * ### Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Materials-related field desired### ### **Working Conditions:** * ### Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment * ### Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE * ### May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes * ### Requires occasional travel to support customers * ### Standing: 10% \\*percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task* ### Sitting: 90% \\*percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task* ### Lifting (in pounds): up to 10 pounds* ### Pushing (in pounds): up to 10 pounds* ### Mental/Visual: use of computer* ### Workspace: cubicle/desk### ### **As a team member at Crane Aerospace and Electronics, you’ll enjoy:*** ### Benefits: Health care, dental or life insurance starting the first day of the month* ### Time Off: 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day at Crane and 12 paid holidays per year.* ### 401k Retirement Plan: 401k plan with company match* ### Education Reimbursement: eligible after 90 days of employment ### You can see a list of our benefits at or visit our website at for more information on our company and great opportunities.### ### We are committed to operational excellence and world class processes.
