Overview:

Our specialized pharmacy in Plano is seeking an experienced Pharmacist (RPh) for a short-term coverage assignment focused on prescription processing and verification. You’ll apply your precision and clinical judgment to patient safety, with no billing responsibilities.

Position Offers:

• Schedule: 9:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • October 26-29, 2026
  • November 2-4, 2026
• Competitive pay: $75-80 per hour (DOE)
• Temporary coverage assignment
• Focus on prescription processing and verification, with no billing responsibilities
• Opportunity to support a specialized pharmacy

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter, review, and verify prescription data in the pharmacy system for completeness and accuracy
• Prepare and validate incoming prescriptions, confirming dosage, formulation, and directions align with clinical guidelines
• Perform final verification of prescriptions before release, completing all safety and compliance checks
• Interpret milligram, volume, and concentration measurements for medications that have already been compounded
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or potential medication-related issues, escalating concerns as appropriate
• Provide remote assistance and support to pharmacy staff and related teams as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of verification activities in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Active, current Pharmacist (RPh) licensure in Texas
• Availability for all coverage dates
• Experience with prescription data entry, preparation, and final verification, and the ability to interpret medication concentrations, volumes, and milligram measurements
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and provide remote support
• 1 year of experience preferred
• Experience in mail-order or central fill pharmacy, sterile or non-sterile compounding, or telepharmacy workflows, and knowledge of current clinical guidelines and formulary management, preferred
