Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler builds heat exchangers, subassemblies, and related units in an open shop environment using drawings, bills of materials, and engineering specifications. This role focuses on stacking and assembling metal sheets and components prior to brazing, while ensuring all assemblies meet required quality standards, tolerances, and specifications. The Mechanical Assembler also identifies and repairs non-conforming components as needed and contributes to efficient, high-quality production.

• Assemble heat exchangers, subassemblies, and related units using drawings, bills of materials, and engineering specifications.
• Stack and assemble products and metal sheets at various workstations prior to brazing operations.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical assembly tasks.
• Read and follow work instructions, schematics, and production documentation accurately.
• Verify that all assemblies meet quality standards, tolerances, and specifications.
• Identify non-conforming components or assemblies and repair or rework them as needed.
• Perform basic quality control checks throughout the assembly process to ensure consistent output.
• Handle and move metal components and assemblies, including heavy lifting when required.
• Work collaboratively with other production team members to meet project deadlines and production targets.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in an open shop and warehouse environment.
• Operate or assist with material handling equipment, such as forklifts, if trained and required.
• Work autonomously when necessary, taking ownership of assigned tasks and stations.

• At least 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components.
• Experience in assembly roles involving hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of quality control principles in a production environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle metal components safely.

• Metal fabrication and sheet metal experience.
• Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Experience working with sheet metal and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
• Experience with electronic assembly is beneficial.
• Familiarity with production workflows and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously when necessary and manage tasks independently.
• Hands-on mechanical interests, such as working on vehicles or similar mechanical projects, are an asset.

This is a full-time, first-shift role with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is based in an open warehouse and indoor/outdoor facility. While there is no air conditioning, multiple industrial-sized fans are installed at every station to promote airflow and comfort. Water and electrolytes are provided to support hydration throughout the shift. The production team consists of approximately 20 people, creating a collaborative yet focused environment. The dress code is very casual, with steel-toed boots required for safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dover, NH.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Dover,NH.
