Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance MechanicOur client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment in a metal fabrication facility supporting automotive customers. The Maintenance Mechanic will play an important role in maintaining equipment reliability, completing preventive maintenance, supporting quality standards, and keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance according to established maintenance plans and IATF 16949 requirements.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.Maintain equipment including stamping presses, CNC machines, robotic welding cells, conveyors, and other metal fabrication machinery.Follow controlled work instructions, maintenance procedures, and engineering standards.Accurately document maintenance activities in the CMMS, including root cause, corrective actions, and parts used.Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement initiatives.Assist with equipment installation, validation, and change management.Update or support updates to PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and other maintenance documentation as needed.Identify and communicate equipment-related quality risks that could affect product conformity.Support containment and corrective actions related to equipment failures or customer concerns.Perform welding, fabrication, and machining repairs when needed.Maintain awareness of equipment and tooling calibration requirements.Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.Support internal and external audits related to IATF 16949, customer, and safety requirements.Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards throughout work areas.Quality AwarenessThe Maintenance Mechanic will work in support of the company's quality objectives and understand how equipment reliability and maintenance practices can affect product quality, customers, and the end user. Maintenance activities must be performed with a strong focus on product conformity and customer-specific requirements.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Technical degree, apprenticeship, or journeyman certification preferred.3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in automotive or metal fabrication environments.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including presses, tooling, conveyors, and automation.Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission.Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including motors, sensors, and safety circuits.PLC troubleshooting experience is preferred.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.Welding experience, including MIG, TIG, or Stick, preferred.Familiarity with IATF 16949, PFMEA, Control Plans, and preventive maintenance documentation preferred.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Physical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance tasks.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and moving machinery.Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or rotating shifts as required.Safety, Quality & ComplianceThe Maintenance Mechanic must comply with all OSHA, company safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
