Tooling Supervisor

Akkodis is seeking a Tooling Supervisor for a Direct Hire with a client in Corona, CA. The ideal candidate will lead tooling operations by overseeing extrusion tooling maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to support production goals.


Salary Range: $108K/Yearly to $132K/Yearly; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Tooling Supervisor Responsibilities include:

• Lead extrusion tooling maintenance activities, including cleaning, inspection, preventative maintenance, and tooling repairs.
• Troubleshoot and improve tooling performance to support production, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to guide tooling preparation, assembly, and process execution.
• Supervise and mentor tooling technicians, providing training, work direction, and support for skill development.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams on process improvements, new product launches, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage tooling inventories, spare parts, and daily team workloads to ensure uninterrupted production and efficient operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience; bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in tooling, machining, manufacturing, or extrusion environments, including team leadership responsibilities.
• Extensive hands-on experience with thermoplastic extrusion tooling, including assembly, troubleshooting, maintenance, and blueprint interpretation.
• Proven ability to lead and train teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
