Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve their daily skills while exploring a new location in Skowhegan, ME. This role is based in a skilled nursing facility and supports interdisciplinary care focused on functional independence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active Maine Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred.
• Documentation experience with SOAP notes and electronic medical records preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
• Experience treating geriatric populations and managing ADL/IADL programs preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 0800-1630.
• Shift Days: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat (VMS work days indicate potential for any day coverage).
• Meal break: 30 minutes.
• Guaranteed hours: 35 per week as indicated by client.
• May be required to float to other nearby facilities as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide patient-centered occupational therapy in a skilled nursing environment. Collaborate with nursing and rehabilitation teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Document patient progress and contribute to discharge planning and home safety recommendations.
