Job Description
The Physical Therapist Assistant supports licensed physical therapists in providing care to patients primarily in outpatient clinic settings. Working under the supervision of physical therapists, the assistant focuses on geriatrics and orthopedic patient populations to help improve mobility and manage pain through therapeutic exercises and treatments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care and the implementation of therapeutic exercises
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions
- Document treatments and patient progress accurately
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising therapist
- Educate patients on exercise routines and recovery techniques
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists to optimize patient outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in physical therapy assistance
