In this role, you'll assist with clinical tasks, documentation, and communication between residents, families, and providers in a skilled nursing setting.Please Note: This role requires an active Certified Medical Aide (CMA) credential. Medication Technicians do not meet the requirements for this position.What You'll Need:Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting programCurrent CMA certification (AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT)CPR/BLS CertificationStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsResponsibilitiesAdminister medications to residents as ordered and under the direction of the attending physicianAdminister medications in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, local procedures and practices, and requirements of the stateAccurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications ordered for a residentComplete necessary forms, charts, and reports in a timely mannerEnsure all medications administered are properly labeled, returned, and reorderedCreate and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and foster a calm and cheerful environmentParticipate in facility surveys by authorized government agenciesMaintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesEffectively communicate necessary resident information to charge nurses, director of nursing and/or administratorQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be a licensed certified medication aide in this stateKnowledge of the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms for medication administrationAbility to accurately measure, record, and report vital signsMust be able to read, write and speak English fluently.Must have an active CPR/BLS Certification.Employee BenefitsHealth Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
