Electrical Estimator / Sales Representative

We are looking for an experienced construction professional or technician interested in transitioning from the field into an estimator and sales-focused role.

In this position, you will develop opportunities involving fire alarm, access control, video surveillance/CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems. You will work closely with customers, estimators, designers, and operations teams to translate field conditions and project requirements into practical, code-compliant solutions that can be successfully sold and installed.

What You Will Do

• Build relationships and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, and customer education.

• Conduct site surveys, review plans and specifications, and lead technical discovery.

• Develop system concepts, estimates, proposals, and scope narratives.

• Prepare or coordinate layouts, shop drawings, submittals, battery calculations, and voltage-drop calculations.

• Coordinate with customers, engineers, architects, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and construction trades.

• Identify scope changes and support change-order development.

• Manage follow-up activities and maintain visibility into the sales pipeline and forecast.

• Remain engaged from opportunity development through project handoff and coordination.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, properly scoped, and aligned with project requirements.

Required Skills

• Ability to read construction plans and understand construction coordination.

• Strong customer communication, presentation, organizational, and project-management skills.

• Sales-oriented mindset with curiosity, follow-through, accountability, and comfort asking for the business.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of relevant fire protection or life-safety system design experience.

• NICET Level II certification or higher.

• Strong knowledge of applicable fire and building codes and NFPA requirements.

• Experience with floor-plan, CAD, or system-design software.
