Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support providers in a clinic setting. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality clinical care and exceptional patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide routine patient care under the direction of physicians or clinical supervisors
• Room patients and prepare them for examinations
• Administer medications, immunizations, EKGs, and ear lavages; assist with minor procedures
• Perform venipuncture and manage laboratory duties including drawing, spinning, and prepping samples
• Maintain, stock, and sterilize exam rooms and instruments
• Manage patient medical records and enter encounters and test requisitions into the system
• Answer phones, triage calls, and assist with front office functions as needed
• Communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients per provider direction
• Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 100 days of hire
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Experience administering medications and immunizations under provider supervision
• Ability to perform EKGs
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
• Strong patient communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Prior outpatient or clinic-based experience
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)
