ASSA ABLOY is adding a Junior Accountant to our Service Centers team located onsite out of our manufacturing facility located in Milan, Tennessee. This is a great opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting.What would you do as our Junior Accountant? You will support accounting and financial reporting activities by preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, analyzing variances, and assisting with month-end close. Working under the direction of the Controller, you will help maintain accurate financial records while following GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. You would also:Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries with appropriate supporting documentationComplete balance sheet, bank, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliationsInvestigate discrepancies and help resolve accounting issuesSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities within established deadlinesReview account activity, trends, and variances, escalating unusual or significant itemsPrepare account analyses and supporting schedules for financial and management reportingAssist with financial statements and internal and external auditsMaintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial recordsPrepare Internal Control System statements and related reconciliationsPrepare the monthly RNV report and partner with Procurement to investigate discrepanciesFollow GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controlsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and data qualityBuild effective working relationships across departmentsOther projects and assignments, as neededThe Skills and Experience you need:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldUp to 3 years of accounting or related experience; relevant internship experience will be consideredWorking knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial reportingStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with JD Edwards, Power BI, or Business Objects is a plusStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to recognize and investigate discrepanciesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively across functionsSound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentialityWhat we offer!
