Middle School Science Teacher

Description Position Overview As a science teacher, you will have the opportunity to create an impact in the lives of students that will last a lifetime. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Curriculum Development and Instruction Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments Use data to inform instructional decisions Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs Differentiate instruction to ensure that all students are progressing In conjunction with Exceptional Education Teachers, work to ensure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom Help Build a Positive School and Classroom Culture Embody and maintain school’s values, policies, and culture Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members Establish and maintain strong communication with all families and share progress Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students Have fun and spread joy! Demonstrate a Growth Mindset Pursue challenging professional goals each year Give and receive positive and constructive feedback with your colleagues Participate in school-wide and individual professional development Be prepared to do whatever it takes for all students to learn and grow Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required A passion for being a part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture Pass Criminal Background Check Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of teaching experience Demonstrated ability to raise achievement Experience working in underserved/low-income communities #J-18808-Ljbffr Liberationacademy
