Prep Cook

Summary The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in the kitchen to ensure efficient food production and high-quality dishes. This role supports the culinary team by maintaining organization, cleanliness, and food safety standards while preparing items according to recipes and specifications. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment Properly store food and label items according to food safety standards Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to leadership Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Assist with receiving and storing deliveries Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines Support team members to ensure timely service Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school completion or equivalent required Food Handler Certification required or willingness to obtain Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for long periods Physical mobility with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 pounds Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of employment.
