Construction Project Engineer

Construction Project Engineer – Sacramento, CA We are a full‑service commercial construction company with over 65 years of experience and a portfolio that includes retail, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. We are looking for a Project Engineer (Construction) to help direct and support the management of assigned commercial construction projects. Job Details Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (plus benefits). Responsibilities Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the management and execution of construction projects, including scheduling, cost control, expediting, quantification, estimating/pricing, and safety. Prepare and update submittal logs and RFIs, ensuring timely responses and compliance with specifications. Review subcontractor submittals for conformance, transmit them to the design team for approval, and maintain status logs. Address and distribute RFIs to design consultants, owners, and subcontractors. Evaluate change order requests for validity and correctness. Develop construction schedules using Microsoft Project and prepare related estimates. Prepare material take‑offs, requisitions, and purchase orders. Oversee daily job logs and as‑built records. Compile closeout documentation. Expedite material deliveries and monitor quality control, reporting to the PM and superintendent. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree desired; experience considered. 3–5 years of experience in commercial construction project engineering or project management. Experience with project management software (Procore preferred). Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills. Team orientation and ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
