Location: Seadrift, TX (Onsite)

Schedule: 5/10s (may transition to 4/10s based on project needs)

Duration: 1+ year Contract

Per Diem: Available

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced  Construction Management Lead – Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E)to oversee construction activities for a large-scale industrial capital project. This role is responsible for leading field construction execution, ensuring safe work practices, managing contractors, and delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Instrumentation & Electrical construction activities in heavy industrial environments such as chemical, petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, power generation, or manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) construction activities for major capital projects.
  • Provide field leadership with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
  • Promote and maintain a zero-incident safety culture across all construction activities.
  • Develop and execute construction management plans, staffing plans, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, operations, and contractors throughout project execution.
  • Manage construction contractors, labor resources, and field activities.
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively address construction issues and delays.
  • Review construction progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Support constructability reviews and provide input during project planning and Front-End Loading (FEL).
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing construction best practices and innovative technologies.
  • Mentor and coach junior construction personnel while fostering a collaborative project environment.
  • Support project commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline  OR
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant industrial construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience leading Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) construction on industrial capital projects.
  • Strong background managing contractors, subcontractors, and craft labor.
  • Experience delivering projects safely while meeting schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Ability to develop construction execution plans and coordinate multidisciplinary field activities.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction processes and project execution methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following industries:

  • Chemical Manufacturing
  • Petrochemical
  • Refining
  • Oil & Gas
  • Power Generation
  • Heavy Industrial Manufacturing

Experience with:

  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Instrumentation installation
  • Cable tray, cable pulling, and terminations
  • Switchgear, MCCs, transformers
  • PLC/DCS systems
  • Construction planning and scheduling
  • Contractor performance management
  • Commissioning and startup support
  • OSHA safety practices and industrial construction standards
