Adult Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) - FT - Days - Jeff Hwy

Overview We provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in‑patients and out‑patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities Set up RT‑CRT equipment and monitors, wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation. Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information for each patient. Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures. Provide care that addresses physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient served in the assigned area. Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, proper introduction, explaining services, and requesting permissions and appropriate communication style. Other related duties as required. Education Associate’s Degree (required). Bachelor’s Degree (preferred). Experience None required. Certifications Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice. Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency with Windows‑style applications, various software packages specific to role, and keyboard use. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical and Environmental Demands Requirements include exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to move objects. The job may require standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity. Ability to travel between facilities and work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call) is required. Exposure to blood, body fluid, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste may occur, and the role may involve heavy lifting or use of mechanical lifting devices.
