Physician (Neurology)

Position Overview

The Augusta, GA Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is searching for a BE/BC Neurologist to join their dynamic healthcare team. The center offers tertiary care in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and spinal cord injury. It is affiliated with the Georgia Health Sciences University and integrates teaching, research, and advanced patient care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with neurological diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide educational contributions, regularly interacting with students and residents as an inpatient consultant and in the neurology clinic.
• Consult with primary‑care physicians and other specialists to ensure continuous, appropriate care for patients.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in performing/interpreting electroencephalogram (EEG) is preferred.

Required Professional Qualifications

• Citizenship: United States citizen (noncitizens may be appointed in exceptional circumstances).
• Education: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a VA‑approved institution as described in the full requirements.
• Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a United States state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Physical Standards: Meet the physical standards established for the position.
• English Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English.

Salary Range

Up to $195,000 per year.
