Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production activities on the shop floor. This role is responsible for driving operational performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while building and developing a high-performing team.

This is an ideal opportunity for:

A current Production/Operations leader , or
A Manufacturing/Process Engineer ready to step into leadership

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily shop floor operations , including team meetings, production execution, and staffing
Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (waste reduction, standard work, process optimization)
Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met efficiently
Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable for performance and safety
Provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and manage disciplinary actions when needed
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and training teams
Monitor and manage labor efficiency, overtime, and workforce planning
Support a strong culture of safety, quality, and compliance
Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions
Engage with customers as needed on product quality, testing, and process-related matters

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Business, or related field)
4+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
(or 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in lieu of degree)
Proven experience driving Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Preferred Experience

Aerospace or automotive manufacturing background
Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems
Experience with thermal processing, coatings, or specialized manufacturing processes
Background in process engineering or manufacturing engineering

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the Plant Manager
