Senior Quality Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for leading quality assurance initiatives that ensure aerospace components and manufacturing processes meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements. This position serves as a technical leader within the Quality organization by driving continuous improvement, leading root cause investigations, supporting new product introduction, and partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and customers to achieve world-class quality performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, customer, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits and coordinate responses to audit findings.
• Develop, improve, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, inspection methods, and quality documentation.
• Ensure effective document control, record retention, configuration management, and change control processes.
• Support Management Review activities and quality metric reporting.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to improve process capability, product quality, and operational efficiency.
• Lead statistical analysis, process capability studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop inspection plans, control plans, First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, and validation protocols.
• Support production by resolving quality issues and implementing permanent corrective actions.
• Participate in new product introduction (NPI), design reviews, PFMEA activities, and process validations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Support supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective action follow-up.
• Review supplier documentation including material certifications.
• Assist with supplier audits and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve process capability.
• Interface with customers on quality issues, investigations, and compliance documentation.
• Support customer inspections, source inspections, and product acceptance activities.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Quality, Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related).
• 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Aerospace inspection and testing methods
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with electronic QMS and ERP systems.
