West Plains Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Farm Equipment Technician to join our service team in Bowman, North Dakota. What You’ll Do

• Perform advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on agricultural equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and precision ag systems
• Independently diagnose complex equipment issues and determine effective repairs
• Complete accurate service reports and work orders in a timely manner
• Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical resources to support repairs
• Support and mentor junior technicians when needed
• Collaborate with service, parts, and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Deliver high-quality workmanship with attention to detail and efficiency

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in agricultural, diesel, or heavy equipment repair
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
• Ability to work independently on complex repairs and troubleshooting
• Strong problem-solving and technical skills
• Effective communication and organizational abilities
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service
• Experience with Case IH or similar agricultural equipment preferred

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in shop and field environments for extended periods
• Comfortable working around equipment, fluids, and varying environmental conditions
• Safety-minded and compliant with workplace safety standards
• Must maintain insurable driving status
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
