DENTAL ASSISTANT

West Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is a leading pediatric orthodontic practice dedicated to providing top-notch orthodontic care to children and adolescents. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our growing team.

Position Overview

As a Pediatric Orthodontic Dental Assistant at West Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, you will play a crucial role in assisting our orthodontists in providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with young patients, helping with orthodontic procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and offering a friendly and comforting atmosphere to ensure a positive experience for our young clientele.

Key Responsibilities 

Assist orthodontists during dental procedures and treatments.- 

• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for orthodontic procedures.
• Sterilize and maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Take digital impressions, X-rays, and photographs as needed.
• Provide education and instructions to pediatric patients and their parents on proper orthodontic care and hygiene
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
• Assist with fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances, such as braces and retainers
• Monitor and track patient progress
• Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination
• Help maintain a welcoming and child-friendly atmosphere in the office.

Qualifications  

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program
• Prior experience working in a pediatric dental or orthodontic practice is preferred
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and equipment
• Excellent communication skills, especially with children and adolescents
• Empathetic and compassionate nature
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sterile environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
