If you're ready to stand on the front lines of care and be a lifeline for animals in need, we'd be proud to have you on our team. Essential FunctionsIn the clinic – Demonstrate a humane attitude towards animals and the ability to work with a host of personalities in a team environment with a positive attitude.Utilize excellent communication skills and an ability to work efficiently.Evaluate owned animals brought in for appointments. Perform physical exams, diagnostics, therapeutics and determine appropriate medical plan. Provide clear instructions and guidance to all clients to ensure that we set up owners for success. Document recommendations, treatment plans, written discharges and a thorough medical record for each patient.Ensure that medical records must satisfy the Arizona Veterinary Medical Examining Board standards. Efficiently perform minor surgical procedures.Multitask to oversee and provide treatment for multiple cases when needed.Administrative – Create and maintain all medical records in a timely and efficient manner.Monitor, dispense and log all controlled substances according to standards established by the DEA Fulfill continuing education requirements are fulfilled to maintain your D.V.M. license.Other duties as assigned. Education / Certifications / Licenses:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine OR Veterinary Medical Doctor Degree Must be licensed to practice in Arizona. Experience:Minimum of one year of experience in a veterinary clinic, ideally in an urgent care or emergency setting. Other DutiesRegular attendance and punctuality are required.Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening to be compliant with DEA requirements for dispensing controlled drugs. Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There may be occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated environment.
