VP – Branch Manager
Leads the Branch's commercial and mortgage lending, business development, credit administration, portfolio management, member service, and staff development within delegated authority. Oversees credit and support functions while promoting profitable growth, sound credit quality, efficient delivery, and consistent implementation of Association policies and programs.
Directly supervises all credit and support staff within the Branch.
Major responsibilities include:
- Directing business development for the Branch's commercial and mortgage lending portfolios in accordance with Association policies and delegated authority. Promotes profitable growth while balancing sound credit quality through disciplined underwriting.
- Developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective borrowers by visiting farms and ranches, making targeted marketing calls, cultivating referral sources, and identifying opportunities to expand relationships.
- Monitoring lending operations and portfolio performance, including credit quality, credit delivery, loan pricing, risk ratings, exceptions, delinquencies, and servicing activity. Ensures Branch practices comply with Farm Credit Administration regulations, Association policies, and applicable internal controls.
- Leading, coaching, and developing Branch employees by establishing clear performance expectations, providing timely feedback, completing performance reviews, and fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Makes recommendations to management regarding hiring, corrective action, and termination decisions for Branch staff.
- Building productive relationships with internal staff, agricultural organizations, community leaders, and other external contacts. Representing and promoting Western AgCredit at agricultural organization meetings and events.
- Maintaining a professional presence throughout the agricultural community and developing a network among community leaders and influencers.
- Coordinating branch and regional marketing efforts with the SVP-Chief Credit Officer and Marketing Director.
- Directly servicing and managing a loan portfolio.
- Approving loans and loan servicing within delegated authorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agricultural business, accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible agricultural or commercial lending experience, including demonstrated responsibility for credit analysis, portfolio management, customer relationships, and business development. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in credit administration, financial and credit analysis required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Farm Credit regulations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of agriculture, accounting, business law and economics is required.
- Management experience, or equivalent, preferred.
- Ability to effectively make decisions independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong skills in organization, directing, planning, and written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and effectively use Association lending, customer relationship management, document preparation, and reporting systems.
Mobility on unimproved properties and/or construction sites required. Some travel required in performance of job.
